Marketing of JH Clinical Services and Research

All marketing or advertising material in any medium related to Johns Hopkins clinical services must be reviewed and approved in advance by the Johns Hopkins Medicine Marketing & Communications office, which will coordinate with the appropriate legal and administrative groups as needed.

All marketing and recruitment material related to clinical research must be approved in advance by the JHM Office of Human Research Subjects Research (IRB).

Johns Hopkins Medicine generally does not permit publicity about research — and specifically about clinical trials — until a study has been completed and the results have been published in peer-reviewed journals or presented at professional gatherings, such as conferences. See OHSR.3 Organization Policy on Press Releases and other Planned Publicity for Industry-Sponsored Clinical Research Studies. The Use of Name Committee applies this standard to all clinical research and most research studies.
