In certain instances, such as initiatives, fundraising campaigns, and institutional celebrations, a unique visual solution or graphic identifier may be created.
Graphic identifiers are not logos
On first view, such as a document cover or website, the Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM) logo must appear along with the graphic identifier. See the examples at right.
Graphic identifiers cannot be used in place of, or combined with, the JHM logo.
What elements you should include
Typeface
Use only the JHM typeface families.
Color
Select colors that complement the master logo colors of blue and gold. Click here for more detail about color.
What you should avoid
A graphic identifier must not include the words Hopkins, Johns Hopkins or Johns Hopkins Medicine.
A graphic identifier must not include any elements comprising the JHM logo, including parts of the triangle or the dome, nor may any new graphic treatment or representation of the Johns Hopkins dome be created as part of the graphic identifier.
A graphic identifier must not be placed in close proximity to the JHM brandmark in any media (print, web or video).
Avoid using a graphic identifier in official business communications
A graphic identifier must not be used on a business card or letterhead in place of, or in combination with, the JHM logo.
